the first step in reserving an interpreter is scheduling.  since demand for interpreting services often exceeds supply in this area, contact jon as soon as you have date secured.  interpreting services will be provided by jon barad, or by an intepreter from his network of highly qualified colleagues.

what do you charge?

interpreting rates start at $120 for up to two hours, and $30 for each additional half-hour.  surcharges may apply for the following:

• after-hours
• nights, weekends, and holidays
• legal or psychiatric interpreting
• last-minute requests
• parking and mileage.

do you give discounts?

yes.  payments received the day the services are rendered will be discounted up to 7.5%.


is there a contract?

in order to confirm an interpreter, a contract will be sent to you which must be signed and returned prior to the assignment date.  once the contract is signed and returned and the assignment is complete, you will be invoiced.  payments received the same day services are rendered will be discounted up to 7.5%.

will i need two interpreters?

assignments over two hours may require a second interpreter. some factors considered when determining how many interpreters you will need include duration, complexity, setting, and type of assignment.

if it is determined that you will need two or more interpreters, additional interpreters will be secured for you from a network of pre-screened interpreters.
